Acquisitions - We've just completed the acquisition of Blumcraft of Pittsburgh, one of the most well respected names in Architectural Hardware. This comes on top of our acquisitions of Tajima Corp
(Architectural Metals), Key Control Systems (Showcase/Security Locks), and Jackson Exit Device (Door Closers and Panic Devices), as well as the rights to manufacture Wikk Balanced Doors. This collection of quality Architectural Hardware brands is unmatched in the industry, and further broadens the selection of opportunities available to our customers.
Facilities - The Jackson acquisition coincided with the completion of a new 62,000 sf facility across the street from our Corporate Headquarters in Los Angeles, from which we will manufacture both Jackson and Blumcraft products. We have also acquired an 11 acre parcel less than a mile away that will house a new 310,000 sf manufacturing facility to be completed in early 2011. In Europe, we completed an addition to our warehouse in Germany to bring the total space to 38,000 sf, and we just opened our new 60,000 sf European headquarters in Manchester, UK.
